Niilo Autio is pianist from Turku. He began playing the piano at Turku Conservatory under Jaana Luuppala, after which he continued his studies at Tampere Conservatory grade II under Kristiina Kask-Valve. In the spring of 2024 he graduated a music educator in the Turku University of Applied Sciences, where he was taught by Eveliina Kytömäki. Next autumn Autio will begin his Master’s studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He has attended several Master Courses from such educators as Liisa Pohjola, Antti Siirala and Paavali Jumppanen. In addition to piano, Autio studies the French horn and performs actively as a chamber musician and a lied pianist.

Emilia Sohlberg graduated the Turku University of Applied Sciences as music educator in 2022, where she studied under Alexander Vinnitski, Siljamari Heikinheimo and Juha-Pekka Vikman. Currently Sohlberg is studying for a Master’s degree at the University of Gothenburg in the symphonic orchestra performance programme, where she is taught by Marja Inkinen-Engström. Emilia Sohlberg performs activelys as an orchestral as well as a chamber musician in Gothenburg and Turku region. In Sibelius’ violin works, she considers tonal colours and character the most important.

During the 2024 summer our museum once again comes to life on weekends with live music in the Sibelius Hall. With this, we wish to provide a possibility to experience our exhibitions a bit differently. Naturally, you may also have a seat in the concert hall and just enjoy the music.

Sommar Sibelius is a collaborative project between the Sibelius Museum and the Turku Arts Academy where music students perform music by Jean Sibelius during short pop-up concerts.

The Sommar Sibelius concerts are included in the admission price.
