Erkki Melartin 150 years: A versatile artist
Composer Erkki Melartin (1875–1937) was also a visual artist. During his life, he organised two public exhibitions presenting his own art. Most of Melartin’s visual art depicts different subjects related to nature, but there are also still lifes and portraits.
There are about 30 works of visual art by Erkki Melartin in the collections of the Sibelius Museum. In the exhibition only a few are in display, but you can check out the rest via the search service Finna.
