Cake and music!

Coffee and Cake to Mark a Centenary Celebration on 28 November
On 27 November 2026, it will be exactly 100 years since Otto Andersson was appointed the first Professor of Musicology and Folklore Studies at Åbo Akademi University. At the same time, the collections that we now know as the Sibelius Museum began to take shape.
We will celebrate this milestone on the following day, Saturday, 28 November, by inviting museum visitors to enjoy coffee and cake at 11.00 a.m. Throughout the afternoon, there will also be live music performances. The performers will include musicians from the Akademiska Orkestern symphony orchestra and singers from the student choirs Brahe Djäknar and Florakören, all affiliated with Åbo Akademi University.
Free admission to the museum all day!
