Attilio Prevost (Turin, September 6, 1890 – Milan, May 3, 1954) was an Italian photojournalist, engineer and entrepreneur. Pioneer of Italian cinema, photographer and cameraman, he is remembered for being one of the first war photojournalists of the Italian Royal Army in the First World War, for having founded in 1913, with his wife Elena Lanzoni Prevost, the Officine Prevost (cinema equipment factory active from 1913 to 1991) and for having created the first slow motion in the world with a horizontal worktop.

The remarkable photographic production of the photojournalist, classified and kept for decades at the Ministry of War, is now kept in the archives of the Italian Ministry of Defense. 

Rossella Spinosa (bio)

She graduated really young in piano, harpsichord, composition and, in the same years, she obtained the  Bachelor’s degree in Law with honorable mention and in Musicology, too. She specialized in piano with Boris Petrushansky and Pier Narciso Masi, graduating with a three-year Master (with honorable mention) at the prestigious International Piano Academy of Imola. She also studied, in the following years, with teachers of the Mozarteum in Salzburg and the School of Music and Drama in London. Winner of numerous national and international piano competitions, she played in some of the most important Italian and foreign halls such as Santa Cecilia Hall in Rome’s Music Park, Arcimboldi Theatre in Milan, Milan Auditorium, Municipal Theatre in Bologna, Ponchielli Theatre in Cremona, Municipal Theater in Florence, Carnegie Hall in New York, Bartok Hall of the Hindemith Foundation, Cohen Studio theater in Cincinnati University, Belosseji-Belorzsky Palace in St. Petersburg, Italian Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo,  Sibelius Museum in Helsinki, Auditorium of the Conservatory “M.De Falla” in Buenos Aires, etc.., collaborating with major composers (including, Paolo Castaldi, Luis de Pablo, Ivan Fedele, Giacomo Manzoni, Bernhard Lang, Misato Mochizuki, Luis Bacalov, etc..) and performing many new works dedicated to her, in Europe, Canada, United States, Russia, South America, Japan, South Corea. Alongside with the solo piano activity there is the chamber music, particularly the piano duet “PIANOx2” with Alessandro Calcagnile and the NEW MADE Ensemble (ensemble specialized in contemporary repertoire), as well as the soloist with orchestra (including, Chamber Orchestra of Lugano, the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milan, the Orchestra “Carlo Coccia” in Novara, Professors of Theater San Carlo in Napoli, Chamber Orchestra of Aosta, the Nuova Sinfonica Italiana, the State Academic Orchestra of St. Petersburg, the Concord Orchestra, Kostantinovsky Orchestra of St. Petersburg).

From October 2009 – when she performed the world premiere of “Baires 1 Suite” for two pianos by Luis Bacalov (Oscar Prize for music film) – she has also realized a permanent collaboration with the Argentine composer, until his death in 2017.

She wrote chamber works for orchestra, opera and theater commissioned and performed by the Chamber Orchestra of Lugano, the Chamber Orchestra of Florence , the Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali” of Milan , the Kyev Camerata Orchestra, Orchestra of Vittorio Emanuele Theater in Messina, Filarmonica Italiana, Chamber Orchestra “I Solisti Lombardi”, Dedalo Ensemble, Ned Ensemble, Open Quartet, Fiesole Laborintus Ensemble, Ensemble Risognanze etc. She has a long experience with the soundtrack of silent movies; she works with the Italian Movie Library Foundation and National Movie Library Foundation; she receives commissions from many Foundations, theaters and orchestras for silent movies’ music. Until now, she composed music for around 100 titles of silent movies.

She records also as a pianist, for Amadeus, BookStore Teatro alla Scala, Tactus and Stradivarius, RAI Trade and Archivi XXI Secolo. She also works with protagonists of the show business, including Moni Ovadia, Paolo Rossi, Vanessa Gravina, the Duo “Pali&Dispari”, Teresa Mannino, in live performance. She writes articles for magazines and she is responsible for the CONTEMPORARY rubric of Amadeusonline Magazine. She teaches in Conservatorium in Italy and she holds masterclass for Universities and musical institutions on film music composition.

She received the Medal of the President of the Italian Republic for the artistic merit for the artistic direction of Festival di Bellagio e del Lago di Como. Also, she received the Medal Pro Cultura Hungaria, for her promotion of the Hungarian music.

Many musical magazines speak of her music, with important reviews of her artistic creativity and her musical poetry, as well as her personal piano playing.
