Himera presents: James Rushford
James Rushford is a composer-performer born in 1985 in Melbourne, Australia. His work is drawn from a familiarity with specific concrète, improvisation, avant-garde and collagist languages.
In Sibelius Museum Rushford will perform two pieces:
‘Nupta Cadavera’ (2018) for portative organs
‘Ionone Codex’ (2022) for portative organ, cs80 and processed voice
First piece is more meditative, using microtonality between two detuned organs. Second piece is like a speculative medieval codex from the future, with a collection of varied ”songs”.
