Opena Choir – Tähti tähdistä kirkkain
Opena is an amateur choir for young adults. There is no single vocal director, but any member of the choir can lead the choir with a song of their choice. This autumn’s theme is Christmas and winter. The concert will feature familiar and atmospheric Christmas songs, songs from the old classics rewritten by the choir members themselves, and some more unusual winter songs.
The Opena Choir was originally a choir of student teachers at the University of Turku, in which students had to participate as part of their teaching. Over its 45-year history, however, Opena has split off into a choir of its own, open to anyone interested in singing. Opena is open, relaxed, cheerful and definitely its own thing.
