Pyramidit
Pyramidit (Pyramids) is Topias Tiheäsalo (guitar), Tero Kemppainen (bass) and Juha Sarkkola (drums)
a trio of free jazz musicians. The band’s repertoire consists of classic free jazz tunes arranged to guitar trio and also lesser-known songs from the 1960s to the 2000s. The trio plays compositions by Sun Ra, Don Cherry, Ornette Coleman, Albert Ayler and others, as well as their own free improvisations. They include fast-paced rhythms, free-form modal jazz and delicate balladry. The Sibelius Museum’s acoustics create a wonderful setting for a spatial exploration of electronic and acoustic sounds!
The concert is part of the Foundation Day’s programme and also part of the exhibition Dearly Detested Concrete – Brutalism in Finland. Free jazz, free of charge!
