Opening concert of Pianoaura Festival: Piotr Pawlak, piano

A concert, produced in collaboration by Sibelius Museum and Pianoaura ry, bringing international shine to the Turku autumn.  Dazzling Polish pianist Piotr Pawlak, known in Finland for winning the international Maj Lind Piano Competition in 2022. Born in Gdánsk 1998, Pawlak is known as a charismatic performer – capable in both poetic expressiveness as well as virtuosic ecstasy.

The concert in Sibelius Museum dives into the core of Romanticism. Pawlak has chosen an interesting programme, during which he will recite two loved and renowned piano sonatas, both in the key of B minor.

Frédéric Chopin: Sonata in B minor nr. 3, Op. 58
I. Allegro maestoso
II. Scherzo: Molto vivace
III. Largo
IV. Finale: Presto non tanto

Franz Liszt: Sonata in B minor S. 178

Piotr Pawlak (b. 1998) is a young Polish pianist, performing great in several international piano competitions, including 1st prizes in Maj Lind Piano Competition (Helsinki 2022), IX Darmstadt International Chopin Piano Competition (2017), II International Competition for Young Pianists “Chopin at Wavel” (Kraków 2019). Pawlak is a wanted pianist as he regularly concerts all over the world. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras including Warsaw National Symphony Orchestra, Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra and Accademia Teatro La Scala Orchestra. Pawlak graduated with top grades from the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in 2021.
