Annemarie Åström is a versatile violinist, who is an active chamber and orchester musician, as well as a soloist and a teacher.

Åström has graduated both from Gothenburg’s University of Music (including a soloist’s diploma) and the Royal Danish Music Conservatory. She graduated a Doctor of Music from the Sibelius-Academy in the spring 2024. Her concert series examined Nordic violin music between 1826–2014 and her written thesis concentrated on the elementary teaching of violin and its suitability for different temperaments.

Åström is the artistic director for Wegelius Kammarstråkar -chamber orchestra, and is a member of the Finnish Chamber Orchestra.

Maija Parko performs varying tasks as a musician. She is especially interested in early 1900s French music as well as interdisciplinary artistic projects. She delved into both in her doctoral arts thesis Sibelius Academy. Parko is a passionate chamber musician and a lied pianist. In addition to her artistic work, she teaches the piano at Kirkkonummi Music Institute. Pedagogical work with young people supports Parko’s musicianship and brings her positive energy.

KIC/K Ensemble, a musical collectivee founded by Maija Parko, Annemarie Åström, Kaisa Ranta and Mari Palo operates year-round in Kirkkonummi with grants. Together they organise the annual Kirkkonummi Music Camp for aspiring young musicians. Åström and Parko recorded plenty of chamber music for YLE, including works by Toivo Kuula.
