Staged opera concert with Philia Ensemble

Us and Them is Philia Ensemble’s staged opera concert, which portrays the polarization of today’s society through exuberant humor and a series of increasingly impressive musical numbers. On stage are six singers, a string quartet, and a pianist. The performance features music from, among others, the following works:

Philia Ensemble is an ensemble founded in autumn 2023 that in a unique way brings singers and instrumentalists together under one and the same name. The core of the ensemble consists of a vocal ensemble of solo singers and a string quartet, but the exact lineup varies depending on the project. At times, Philia Ensemble also performs solely as a vocal or instrumental ensemble.

The members of Philia Ensemble are professional musicians based in the Helsinki and Turku regions. The ensemble’s concerts have received an enthusiastic reception and have been praised, among other things, for their inventive programming. Philia Ensemble has also premiered several new works and arrangements.
