Venla Suni and Kaisa Kaartinen met while studying at Turku Arts Academy, where they both graduated as music pedagogues in the Spring 2025. At the arts Academy, Venla was taught by Siljmari Heikinheimo and Kaisa by Eveliina Kytömäki. They both continue their studies: Venla in Sibelius-Akatemia in Päivyt Meller’s violin class and Kaisa in Edsberg, Stockholm under Mats Widlund. Venla Suni plays a violin built in 2012 by Marko Pennanen, loaned to her Rauma Festivo.
In the Sommar Sibelius Concert series, the duo performs violin and piano classics by Sibelius. Op. 81 includes five pieces in different styles, composed around the time of Finland gaining independence. The concert concludes with the joyously waving Novellette op 102.

During the 2025 summer our museum comes to life on weekends with live music in the Sibelius Hall. With this, we wish to provide a possibility to experience our exhibitions a bit differently. Naturally, you may also have a seat in the concert hall and just enjoy the music.
Sommar Sibelius is a collaborative project between the Sibelius Museum and the Turku Arts Academy where music students perform music by Jean Sibelius during short pop-up concerts.
The Sommar Sibelius concerts are included in the admission price.
