Turku Folks! orchestra’s public rehearsal
The members of Turku Folks! take music-making seriously, but with joy and humour! The community’s varied and refreshingly arranged orchestra repertoire consists of dance music from Finland, from polkas to quadrilles and from folk songs to tangos. In open jam sessions people play whatever comes to mind. The orchestra is open to all instruments and players, and everyone can freely choose which events they want to take part in – the most important thing is that the music keeps on playing. The open community was founded in 2017 and already 280 musicians, from beginners to professionals, and who are interested in playing and singing together have joined their mailing list.
