Architecture tour of the museum building

A horrible cube or a wonderful concrete building? During the tour we will explore the architecture of the museum building both from the outside and the inside. How does the brutalist architecture of the 1960’s fit in the surroundings that is dominated by buildings from 19th century and an oak that was planted in the 17th century? What makes the museum building special and why is it a protected building?

A part of this material is on display in the exhibition. For now, the exhibition presents especially Sibelius’ sixth symphony and the music for the Press Celebration Days.
